Praise for American Stew

Stephen James is a media consultant of long-standing experience, and this background shines through as he turns a critical eye on American cultural trends of the last generation. Ernest Becker is James’ most important influence, though he demonstrates a deep understanding of other major cultural critics as well.  James outlines a vision of balance between self-interest, social immersion, individuation and community as the context in which to regain the dynamic tension in our culture and bring us back from the brink of continuing decline. James has produced a very fascinating book.

As informed and informative as it is thoughtful and thought-provoking, Stephen James' American Stew: Hope in a Toxic Culture is a landmark work of observationally based insight that is truly impressive in scope and dimension. An inherently absorbing and challenging read from beginning to end, American Stew: Hope in a Toxic Culture is very highly recommended.

You will get a deeper examination into the flaws in the American way of life from many angles you might not have even considered. Overall, American Stew is a sobering and recommended read. It's enormously engaging and well-written, and hopefully finds a large audience.

American Stew by Stephen James is a thought provoking book that addresses the mentality of America that is toxic, destructive, and causing anxiety and unhappiness to all citizens. . . it should make readers take a hard look at what they believe.
